A severe cold front is expected to hit South Africa starting this weekend, with significant temperature drops and potential snowfall in most provinces except Limpopo. The Western Cape will be affected first, followed by central and eastern provinces by Monday and Tuesday. Gauteng is expected to experience its coldest day of the year on Tuesday, with subzero temperatures in the morning. The weather service warns of severe thunderstorms, hail, and strong winds in several provinces.
