💨 Abstract
A devastating fire at Le Constellation bar in Crans-Montana, Switzerland, during a New Year's celebration killed around 40 people and injured about 115. The cause is unknown, but witnesses mentioned sparklers near the ceiling. Identification of victims may take weeks. Swiss President Guy Parmelin called it a "calamity of unprecedented proportions." The bar's capacity was 340, and many injured were transported to hospitals across Switzerland and neighboring countries.
