Joe Root overtook Jacques Kallis to become the third-highest Test run-scorer during England’s match against India at Old Trafford. England, leading the series 2-1, was 332/2 at lunch on day three. Root, on 63 not out, and Ollie Pope, on 70 not out, steered England ahead of India's first-innings score of 358.
