Ernie Els, a four-time Major winner, has withdrawn from The Open Championship, missing his second consecutive tournament due to health issues. Last year, he withdrew due to a bad back. This year, no specific reason was given. Els, 55, has won The Open twice, in 2002 and 2012. His replacement is Si Woo Kim. The championship features 11 South African players.
