Gary Player, South Africa's greatest sportsman, has congratulated Rory McIlroy for joining the exclusive Grand Slam club in golf, following McIlroy's victory at the Masters tournament. McIlroy, a Northern Irish golfer, is now the sixth player, and the first European, to win all four major championships. Player commended McIlroy's perseverance and grit in achieving this feat.
