💨 Abstract
The Western Cape rugby community is mourning Dawie Snyman, a legendary figure in South African rugby. Snyman, who passed away at 76 after a brief battle with leukemia, was a former Springbok player and head coach who led Western Province to five consecutive Currie Cup titles. Widely regarded as a rugby icon, Snyman’s contributions to the sport extend beyond his on-field and coaching achievements, influencing generations of players and shaping the identity of Western Province Rugby.
