England is considering adopting the Springboks' 7-1 forwards-to-backs bench strategy, known as the "bomb squad," to harness their depth in back-rowers. Coach Steve Borthwick is also training props to play hooker and prioritizing versatile players. This tactic has been defended by World Rugby's chief executive, who cited no medical grounds to prohibit it.
