The FIFA World Cup 2026 will feature a record 10 African teams, the most ever, due to the tournament's expansion to 48 teams. Nine teams qualified directly, with DR Congo securing the final spot through intercontinental playoffs. Notable qualifiers include Cape Verde, making their debut, and South Africa, ending a 16-year absence. African powerhouses like Morocco, Senegal, and Egypt also qualified.
