South African tennis player Donald Ramphadi began his Australian Open campaign with a victory against American David Wagner in the Quad Wheelchair match, winning 6-0, 7-6 (7/4). Despite a challenging second set, Ramphadi proved too strong in the tiebreak. He attributed his second set struggles to a drop in energy and pressure from Wagner.
