In her Wimbledon 2025 debut, Filipina tennis player Alex Eala, adorned with her national flower, the sampaguita, impressed on Centre Court despite losing to defending champion Barbora Krejcikova. Eala, ranked world No 56, pushed Krejcikova to a three-set match, showcasing her powerful left-handed shots and agile footwork. The match marked Eala's highest-ranking achievement for a Filipino player in WTA history.
