💨 Abstract
The Transport Security Administration (TSA) in the U.S. has updated its security policy, removing the requirement for passengers to take off their shoes during airport screenings. This change comes 20 years after the policy was introduced post the shoe bombing attempt by Richard Reid in 2001. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem affirmed that advanced security technology ensures the same level of security without the need for shoe removal.
