💨 Abstract
Crossing your legs on a plane increases the risk of joint pain and deep vein thrombosis (DVT). This is due to the reduction in blood circulation, which can develop when sitting still for long periods. Instead, keep both feet flat on the floor to protect your joints and reduce risk. Physiotherapist Bethany Tomlinson recommends simple exercises like neck stretches, shoulder rolls, and knee hugs to keep mobile during the flight.
