💨 Abstract
A Nelson Mandela University student, Luyanda Mahlanza, 20, was sentenced to life in prison for the murder of his former partner, Zimkhitha Ntshisela, also 20. The attack occurred in June 2023 in Ntshisela's dorm room. Mahlanza's self-defense claim was rejected by the George Regional Court. A student assistant intervened and restrained Mahlanza, stopping the attack.
