💨 Abstract
A teenage hiker from Diocesan College (Bishops) was rescued after being bitten by a small berg adder in the Cederberg mountains. The incident occurred while tying shoelaces during a trek. The group quickly photographed the snake and called for help. Thanks to pre-planned protocols and Garmin InReach devices, a rescue team was dispatched via helicopter. The teen’s injuries were serious but not life-threatening.
