💨 Abstract

The article discusses the author's legal battle against the "bedroom tax," a policy deducted from their Universal Credit for having spare rooms in their council house. Despite one bedroom being inaccessible and others needed for necessary equipment due to their partner's disability, the author faced a monthly deduction. After exhaustive attempts to change the decision, the author took their case to court and won, receiving a £600 lump sum and increased monthly benefits.
