💨 Abstract

In February 2023, Kathleen Firth's 13-year-old daughter Alyssa Morris took her own life after enduring months of relentless bullying, much of it online. Kathleen believes that social media, combined with the isolation of COVID-19 lockdowns, played a significant role in Alyssa's death. Kathleen had suspected Alyssa might be neurodiverse but lacked a formal diagnosis, which she thinks could have prevented the tragedy.
