💨 Abstract
A 26-year-old man in China was diagnosed with psittacosis, also known as "parrot chlamydia" or "parrot fever," after inhaling chicken droppings. He initially presented with a severe cough and high fever. Tests revealed lung issues that worsened despite standard antibiotics. A lung sample test confirmed psittacosis, caused by the bacteria Chlamydophila psittaci, which is different from sexually transmitted chlamydia.
