💨 Abstract
A study from the University of Michigan found that 35% of people engaged in BDSM reported short-term relief from chronic pain. This relief is attributed to the simultaneous release of stress hormones and the feel-good hormone dopamine during these activities. Additionally, participation in BDSM can lead to increased pain tolerance, better ability to discuss pain conditions, and improved emotional coping.
