💨 Abstract
After a camping trip, Madeline Tuckwiller, 4, woke up paralyzed due to a tick bite. Her mother, Taylor, took her to the hospital, but doctors couldn't find the cause until a neurologist discovered a Rocky Mountain wood tick in Madeline's hair. The tick released a neurotoxin causing tick paralysis. After removing the tick, Madeline regained mobility. Taylor now emphasizes the importance of checking for ticks after outdoor activities and takes precautions to prevent future incidents.
