💨 Abstract

100,000 households in Scotland are at risk of huge bill hikes and potential heating issues if they don't upgrade their old Radio Teleswitch Service (RTS) meters to smart meters by June 30. These meters, which control heating and hot water, will be switched off, potentially leaving users without proper heating and facing high energy costs if not upgraded in time. Vulnerable households are particularly at risk, and there are concerns about the slow pace of meter replacements.
