💨 Abstract
In Tenerife, Spain, a 50-foot, 35-ton sperm whale was found dead on a beach after being struck by a vessel. The whale was towed away by a lorry due to its size, following confirmation of its death. This was the fourth whale to wash ashore in the Canary Islands this month. The region sees about 50-60 marine creature strandings annually, often from disease, pollution, or collisions.
