💨 Abstract
A government ban on disposable vapes goes into effect from June 1. Retailers caught selling them risk a £200 fine initially, with potential criminal charges for repeat offenses. Environment secretary Steve Reed emphasized the need to curb juvenile nicotine addiction and reduce litter. Retailers have reported a surge in disposable vape sales before the ban but chargeable e-cigs will still be allowed.
