💨 Abstract
A former professional footballer, Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, 34, admitted to being involved in a £600,000 drug smuggling plot. He was caught at London Stansted Airport with over 60kg of cannabis after returning from Thailand. Emmanuel-Thomas pleaded guilty and was dismissed from his football team, Greenock Morton. Charges against two others initially involved in the case have been dropped. Sentencing for Emmanuel-Thomas is pending at Chelmsford Crown Court.
