💨 Abstract
Pheasant Island, jointly governed by France and Spain, changes nationality twice a year. The tiny island, 200 meters long and 40 meters wide, switches from Spanish to French control on August 1. Prior to 1659, the Franco-Spanish War ended with the signing of the Treaty of the Pyrenees, followed by a royal wedding.
