đź’¨ Abstract
On the Olympic Peninsula, a tanker truck crashed, spilling about 3,000 gallons of fuel into Indian Creek, a salmon habitat. The spill occurred in an area recently restored for salmon runs, prompting cleanup efforts and monitoring by the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe and the Department of Health. 101 was briefly closed, and Gov. Bob Ferguson deemed the accident "devastating." Sodium damaged Port Angeles' main potable water source prompting limitations.
