💨 Abstract
In Florida, record temperatures pose risks to pets, especially horses, which are vulnerable to heat stroke and dehydration. Alicia Grace, owner of Pink Flamingo Stables, ensures her horses have shade, hydration, and cooling measures. Horses are more challenging to cool than indoor pets, and special air conditioning units for horses are expensive. Additional concerns include algae, fungus, and hoof issues from flooding. For cats and dogs, owners must provide shade and water, and never leave them in vehicles.
