💨 Abstract

In Malibu, California, an 11-year-old girl was attacked by a mountain lion near her home, suffering minor injuries. Her mother and sibling intervened, and a family member used a stun gun to scare off the animal. Wildlife officers euthanized a mountain lion found in the area. DNA tests will confirm if it was the attacking lion. Mountain lion attacks on humans are rare, with 27 confirmed cases since 1986, most nonfatal.
