💨 Abstract

A 25 million-year-old fossil found on an Australian beach has revealed a new species of prehistoric whale, Janjucetus dullardi. This small, ferocious creature had bulging eyes, a shark-like snout, and powerful teeth, unlike today's gentle giants. The discovery, made by amateur fossil hunter Ross Dullard, provides insights into early whale evolution and how ancient cetaceans adapted to warmer oceans.
