💨 Abstract
President Donald Trump, in 2025, implemented fluctuating tariffs on imports, causing market uncertainty and business paralysis. He used various laws, including the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA), to justify these tariffs. However, a court ruled that Trump overstepped his authority with IEEPA, blocking his tariffs. Congress is considering legislation to reassert its tariff authority, but it faces hurdles.
