💨 Abstract
The U.S. Supreme Court, in a 6-3 vote, has reinstated plans to temporarily store nuclear waste at sites in Texas and New Mexico. The decision reverses a federal appeals court ruling that blocked the licenses for these facilities, which are needed due to the accumulation of spent nuclear fuel at plant sites. The stores are planned to operate for 40 years with potential renewal.
