In downtown D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser and council members celebrated the start of Pride Month by raising a flag at the Wilson Building. The event, marking the third annual LGBTQIA+ flag raising, comes amid WorldPride events, with 2025 being the 50th anniversary of Pride celebrations in D.C. Bowser highlighted ongoing struggles for equality and safety. Attendees shared personal stories and expressed their support for the LGBTQIA+ community.
