💨 Abstract
Throughout June, WTOP celebrates Pride, highlighting the challenges faced by LGBTQ+ youth, including homelessness. Cesar Toledo, executive director of the Wanda Alston Foundation, notes that 40% of homeless youth in D.C. identify as LGBTQ+. The foundation provides support through case managers, employment, and housing specialists. Despite a federal funding freeze, they raised nearly $7,000 through a Pride 5K event.
