💨 Abstract
On June 5, 2025, the U.S. vetoed a UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate, unconditional, and permanent ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in Gaza. The U.S. opposed the resolution as it did not demand Hamas' disarmament and withdrawal from Gaza. The U.K. and 13 other countries voted in favor, emphasizing the dire humanitarian situation.
