💨 Abstract
Sean Gallagher has been named the acting chief of the U.S. Capitol Police following Tom Manger's retirement last month. Gallagher, who has served with the department since 2001 and has led numerous significant operations, will hold the position until a permanent replacement is found. It's part of a leadership transition aimed at strengthening Capitol security following the Jan. 6, 2021 insurrection.
