💨 Abstract
The D.C. Department of Transportation has begun a two-year project to redevelop a section of Connecticut Avenue in the Dupont Circle neighborhood. The project, costing $37.8 million, will build a deck over the Connecticut Avenue underpass to create a new plaza with public spaces. The redesign will also enhance pedestrian and cyclist safety with new lights, signals, and crosswalks. Local businesses anticipate short-term challenges but expect long-term benefits, including potential new market opportunities.
