💨 Abstract
In 1988, students at Gallaudet University protested the selection of a hearing president, demanding a deaf leader. This event, known as the Deaf President Now (DPN) movement, led to the appointment of Dr. King Jordan as the university's first deaf president. The movement is now documented in "Deaf President Now," a film co-directed by Nyle DiMarco and Davis Guggenheim.
