đ¨ Abstract
On August 8, 2025, Trayon White was sworn in as the Ward 8 representative on the D.C. Council despite facing federal bribery charges. Accused of accepting kickbacks for city contracts, White attended a sparsely attended ceremony where he vowed to focus on healthcare and senior housing. He alleged FBI harassment and declined to discuss details. White's trial is set for January. The only council member present was Ward 7's Wendell Felder.
