💨 Abstract

The U.S. Supreme Court, in a 4-4 decision, left intact an Oklahoma court ruling that invalidated the approval of the nation’s first religious charter school, St. Isidore of Seville Catholic Virtual School. The case involved arguments about religious schools funded by taxpayers. Only eight justices participated, with Justice Amy Coney Barrett not explaining her absence. The issue may return to the court in the future with all nine justices.
