Young people in Virginia, Maryland, and D.C. are experiencing improving economic and educational conditions. Virginia ranked 13th nationally, while Maryland is 21st. shows declines in child poverty and increases in health insurance coverage. Economic well-being improved, with fewer children in families lacking secure employment. Virginia and Maryland have 13% and 11% of young people living in poverty, respectively, while D.C. saw a decline to 17%.
