💨 Abstract
Mayor Muriel Bowser opened a renovated Public Safety Communications Center, a backup 911 call center. The $18.5 million project expanded the space by 40% and added new technology. This ensures that in case of emergencies, all necessary staff, including those from the fire and police departments, can operate from this site. The center will run 24/7, improving the city's emergency response infrastructure.
