đź’¨ Abstract
The FBI is disbanding a Washington, D.C. squad specializing in investigating fraud and public corruption among congressional members and federal officials. This move, part of a broader reorganization, shifts the bureau's focus towards illegal immigration, drug trafficking, and violent crime under Director Kash Patel and the Trump administration's priorities. Despite this change, the FBI will still pursue public corruption investigations. The squad had notably handled probes into attempts to overturn the 2020 election results.
