💨 Abstract

President Trump has ordered a significant reorganization of the National Security Council, which will reduce its staff size and return many career appointees to their original agencies. This shakeup follows the dismissal of Mike Waltz as national security adviser and the sidelining of about 160 NSC aides early in Trump's second term. Secretary of State Marco Rubio is currently serving as the acting national security adviser.
