đź’¨ Abstract
On June 25, 2025, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer was hospitalized and treated for dehydration amid a heatwave in D.C., where temperatures neared 100 degrees. Schumer was light-headed after exercising in the Senate gym and was advised to rest and hydrate. The heat affected visitors and staff on the Capitol grounds, with many seeking relief from the sun. A notable spot for respite is the Summerhouse building on the Capitol's western grounds.
