💨 Abstract
President Trump announced deploying 800 National Guard members to support law enforcement in Washington, D.C., amid rising crime. Only 100-200 troops will be on the streets at any given time, and they will mainly assist with administrative and logistical tasks. Additionally, 500 federal officers from multiple agencies will patrol the city. This move follows previous deployments in Los Angeles and various locations during immigration enforcement efforts, often against the wishes of local officials.
