💨 Abstract
The Supreme Court will hear the appeal of Terry Pitchford, a Black death row inmate from Mississippi. His case involves a prosecutor, Doug Evans, known for dismissing Black jurors for discriminatory reasons. A federal judge had overturned Pitchford's conviction, citing Evans' history, but an appeals court reversed that decision. The case will be argued in the spring. Pitchford was sentenced to death for a 2004 murder.
