💨 Abstract
Health officials warn against "gas station heroin," products containing tianeptine, an unapproved drug sold as energy shots or supplements. Tianeptine can be addictive and cause serious side effects, including opioid-like respiratory issues. Calls to poison control centers linked to tianeptine have increased dramatically. States have started restricting the drug, but it remains unregulated federally.
