💨 Abstract

The WSSC Water officials report that while water supplies are sufficient during the current D.C. area heat wave, customers may see significant increases in their water bills due to higher usage for cooling activities. Heavy rains have ended the drought, but the utility advises mindful water use, especially with pools and sprinklers. Filling a kiddie pool twice weekly adds $59 to the quarterly bill, while sprinklers and water slides can add hundreds more.
