💨 Abstract
The Loudoun County School Board voted 6-3 against complying with the Department of Education's request to alter its policy allowing transgender students to use facilities matching their gender identity. The board cited compliance with applicable law and student rights as their reasons. The DOE argued that the current policy conflicts with Title IX. Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin criticized the policy, while other school districts in Northern Virginia are considering their responses.
