💨 Abstract
The National Fire Academy in Frederick County, Maryland, will reopen on June 2, 2025, after a three-month closure. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) deemed firefighter training a critical mission, reversing a previous closure. Over 60 members of Congress had pushed for its reopening, highlighting its importance in training first responders. Maryland Senators Chris Van Hollen and Angela Alsobrooks praised the decision, emphasizing the facilities' critical role.
