šØ Abstract
Maryland Attorney General Anthony Brown announced three settlements to protect renters' rights. The settlements target discriminatory practices by American Management, Maryland Management, and Habitat America. American Management will adjust its tenant screening policy to fairly evaluate felony convictions and waive application fees for those with felonies for two years. Maryland Management must now accept emergency housing vouchers. Habitat America will halt unlawful surcharges on voucher holders and provide restitution.
